Mercy, Alisha, and I: Part 1

A couple weeks ago, I was over at the Snyder's and we three girls went outside to try getting some good pics with the camera. Mercy wanted all of them, but I will be leaving out a couple that really do not need to be seen.
This is going to take a couple posts, so it will be split into 'Parts'.

The skit directors

My Public Speaking class is going to be putting on a skit for HOPE night. We have all memorized our parts and are ready for HOPE night! This past Friday was HOPE. After HOPE, all the skit members stayed all afternoon so we could work on the skit. Most of the sound/light guys were at CHOICE, but Zach R and Demetry P did a great job running back and forth between lights and keeping the sound going. The first practice we did took 2 1/2 hours long!!! (Yeah, much longer than planned!) But, once we finally got through it, everyone knew how they were supposed to do what, where to go when, and that sort of stuff. Mom and Katie were directing the skit, but they had tons of backstage help from Tim Q and Grace G!
Grace was amazing! She told people when to get ready to do their part, helped them get ready, told people where to go, what to do, when to get on stage, when to be quiet, etc... She was such a help to Mom and Katie. She doesn't have an actual speaking part, so she was able to completely focus on getting us ready to do our parts.
Tim was a great help with the lights and kept running from backstage to the back of the church to help adjust the lights for different scenes. In between running around, talking to Grace, Mom, and/or Katie, about this or that, he was able to do his 2 parts and change between them!! We never knew where you were going to see Grace or Tim, but we all knew that they were helping someone somewhere!
Several times, many of us had to look for Grace or Tim to help is figure out how to do this or when to do that or something along those lines. Every time they were able to give us good advice and help us figure out how everything was supposed to happen. I'm sure that by the time they went home they were feeling pretty dizzy from going one direction one minute and another the next!
By the time that the sound/light guys got back from CHOICE, we were ready to do our parts. Now, Mom and Tim had to help the guys be able to figure out their offstage parts. The first time we ran through it, they turned the lights on too early for almost every scene, but we were flexible and managed to continue on without too much hassle. We did it once again and that time, everything went perfectly. The lights went on at just the right moment, the mikes worked, we students did everything how and when we were supposed to do it, and everything went smoothly! But, none of it would have happened if we hadn't had Mom to direct us, Katie to help us get louder, Grace to tell people when and where to be, Tim telling the light guys how to do this and that, and God keeping us safe from any mishaps, helping us remember so many different things, and helping us keep ourselves together. They were all awesome directors, and if we all pay attention to them on HOPE night, then this skit will be amazing!!
